BOOKS, BOOKS, AND MORE BOOKS
BOOKS, BOOKS, AND MORE BOOKS
So, I love books, and I see that PNN.com has an online book club. I have wanted to join a book club for ever. My neighbor across the street has belonged to a Jewish book club with her synagogue for years, but they are exclusive….you have to be Jewish. Ha! So that leaves me out because I am Episcopalian… and not really wanting to convert just for a book club.
So, anyway back to the book club. I see that the current read is "Life of Bees" which I haven't read, but will diligently go to the library and check out. I can't buy anymore books right now, because my office just won't hold them. I need to seriously get organized this summer and start eliminating books, give to daughters – or taking them to Goodwill (so hard, pain and agony) before I can buy anymore books. I love to shop at Amazon.com and Overstock.com (where I am a member in good standing), but think the most fun place to buy books is at garage sales. I have one bookcase in my office filled with books I haven't read yet. My bookcases are filled with books by certain genres. There is one bookcase filled with books I use in my medical transcription business – but with the internet sometimes these books sit idly by waiting for an internet downtime or electrical blackout. Then, as mentioned the bookcase with books I haven't read yet, which has spilled off onto the floor, and then there is the bookcase with magazines (Oprah, New Yorker, and exercise) that I know I might want to read again….and the other three shelves are filled with self help books, inspirational books, and Bibles, dictionaries and cookbooks.
I really do need to get organized, doncha think? Maybe I should look for a book on organizing my office, but which bookcase should it be shelved???
So many books, so little time….

The other morning, upon waking and stumbling out of bed, I made my way to the kitchen to brew a pot of coffee…and then opened the fridge for the creamer…..and what to my dismay….a BLAST of hot air hit me right in the face…..The temperature in the refrigerator was 98 degrees !!! Hubby and I were forced to throw everything out as the computer brain went bonkers….and off we went to shop at our favorite bargain store….Grocery Outlet. Now, I know that most all areas of Portland metro and the burbs have a Grocery Outlet, and if you haven’t had the opportunity to shop there….get on over there !! The prices are unbelievably low and lots of different things to try…Hubby found Ditka Pork Chop Sauce, that is divine, and of course it comes from Chicago, home of the Mike Ditka Restaurants, and all you football fans, will of course remember ole’Ditka…There are some other bargains that you will not believe….Bar-S polish sausage $3.99 and the big chain stores were marking it at $6.99, on sale….All your fave laundry detergents….dirt cheap!! And, whatever you do, don’t leave without a trip over to the Wine Shop….for you connoisseur’s you will find some unbelievable bargains, and first rate brands and wineries featured ….and once a month they have a wine tasting, featuring all their newest…..The only drawback about Grocery Outlet is that if you really, really love something you better buy it up quick, because lots of other bargain shoppers may be right behind you…scooping up all that is left..Happy hunting!!
